WHO I AM:

Hi! I'm Dan Edwards, a Bridgton, Maine-based illustrator/animator/writer/filmmaker.

I work for a NYC-based company named Atrinsic as a Senior Flash Designer.
-- I've been there for almost four years. It's given me chances to try out all sorts of interesting creative ideas.

I love skiing, traveling, and drawing. I'd be creative all day long even if I didn't get paid for it.

WHO I WAS:

I have worked for the Walt Disney Company twice:
-- as a tour guide at the Disney/MGM Studios in 1997
-- as an intern at Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1998.
I worked with great people in both cases and loved both jobs.

I graduated from RIT in 1999, with a BFA in Illustration.
-- I had a blast, despite the cold weather and low female population. I think it's because the hockey team was good.

I started a company called Art Barn with three college friends.
-- We got lots of awards, honed our craft, made friends, lost money, landed an agent, pitched TV shows and wrote scripts.
-- No graduate school could have competed with the learning experience those four years gave me.

I was a secondary English teacher for two years.
-- I loved it. I love literature and people, so it worked out really well. I was NOT certified, though.

I got my Master's of Education from Saint Joseph's College of Maine in 2008.
-- I'm now certified to teach art. I look forward to doing that someday... after I'm rich and famous.

I opened a coffee shop called The Mad Monkey Cafe and ran it for two years.
-- We sold drinks, released a CD of local indie music, pondered the mysteries of the world and played a lot of Guitar Hero.
-- We didn't make any money at all. It was an amazing adventure, and I made real lasting friends from it.

WHO I ASPIRE TO BE:

I hope to make films, children's books, cartoons, and babies.

I hope to travel more and more, read more and more, understand myself and others more and more.

I hope to finish the film I started a long time ago. I'm really close, and I want it on my shelf.
